The main goal of Tuesdays drawing Workshop is to achieve a notion of one´s own artistic-plastic language . It´s not a regular or traditional drawing workshop, it´s built to address different notions about visual arts. That is to say formal aspects of the language that you could find in a drawing, a painting, a sculpture or anything made by any artistic discipline that creates images.
It is fundamental for the program to work developing observation as a view analysis, to afterwards create an own particular project with different drawing techniques. This way we approach and expand in the "way we see" any artistic piece. That is to say, understand the reasons why an image is composed in a determined way, or why would we use a particular technique. Creating a dialogue between the technical/artistic experience and the "problems/accidents" that come up along the way in an authentic, personal, and natural way.
For the students without any previous experience the approach for the first three months of the working plan is to address to general concepts of observation, the analysis and construction of an image based on the students' consolidation of the aspects that will allow them to approach their own artistic projects, with a solid formal foundation. On the next few months, the program will address to a more technical and creative aspect, deepening on the usage of different materials, composition and finishing methods.
For the more advanced students, we offer a technical encounter that begins from everyone´s own concepts and experiences; in addition to the ones offered by the professor. The program focuses on developing a working process on which the students can find themselves, dialoging and making decisions with the professor. One of the most important parts of the program is to develop a solid methodology based on the dialogue between the technical concepts and the creative experience in order to achieve the goals that the student is after. We will work on individual projects, as well as with exercises based on instructions given by the workshop.
