Leonardo Martinez
Graduate in visual arts . Graphic designer
1984 . Buenos Aires, Argentina.
With a strong geometrical tradition, the artist is trained in many forms of Painting, Illustration/drawing (digital and traditional) and sculpture.
The concepts of time-space, and shape-composition are structural aspects of his work. Beyond the visual poetics, the main axis of his work is focused on the development of an artistic experience linked to the daily routine life, which comes from the analysis of its authentic methods and definitions to understand the "MAKING" as a mean to reflect on the aspects that build the identity of the individual.
The work holds inside the memories and records of the experimentation of the world. From the knowledge passed on by the forefathers (culture, traditions),to what we project on the "here/now".
One of the artist's fundamental aspects of his work is also the value of the techniques and the essence of the materials. As we can see on his pencil drawings, and sculptures on different supports.
Besides his performance as an artistic producer, he is currently working as a professor in the plastic arts workshop at El Transmisor, and directs the Department of Production of an important regional agency of graphic design and digital development.
He lives and works in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
